Can’t log onto certain websites?

January 31, 2006

For some reason or another, some users are not able to log onto websites that they want to, and when they need to. If you find yourself on a public computer (i.e. computer lab at Collingwood) or work, and you cannot log on to a particular website or downloading file attachments, you may want to give this site a try: Vtunnel.

January 20, 2006

From Evrsoft, this little company has been offering free HTML editors to the world for a number of years. The program is very intuitive and relatively easy to user, even for beginner web page designers. This program is not feature rich like: Adobe Dreamweaver or slick and easy to use as Microsoft Frontpage, but a great program nonetheless. TIRED OF APPLE iPODS?

January 15, 2006

Today, iPods are everywhere – in movies, tv shows, bus stops, on the radio, etc. You can shake your head without seeing one. If you are one of those people who hate the devices or are suffering from iPod “burn out”, a company called Creative has an answer for you! Creative is the same company that brought about the SoundBlaster sound card a few years back. Recently, Creative, in response to Apple’s Video iPod, has launched the Creative Zen Vision:M. The Zen Vision:M is a portable media player that like the iPod plays video, music, and photo slideshows. The similarities between the two products practically ends right here. The Zen Vision: M offers: higher number of onscreen colours for vibrant pictures and videos (65,536 vs. 262,144), built-in FM tuner, longer battery life, vibrant colours besides black and white, built-in voice recording capabilities, and a power adapter (iPod adapters are extra). The device also syncs with Microsoft Outlook, so you can take your appointments with you. But, the biggest bonus for users, is the Zen Vision:M supports multiple video: MPEG 4, XVID, DivX, WMV, and Motion JPEGs. The menu structures are well laid out and quite easy to navigate around using the “thumb pad”. So, if you are on the market for a portable media player and don’t want to buy an iPod, make sure you check out the Creative Zen Vision: M. The device is expected to cost: $329 USD. There is one downside to device, it’s size – Zen Vision: M is slightly thicker than the iPod.
